McDonald's expanding delivery locations on UberEats

If you're wanting a Big Mac but don't want to drive to a McDonald's to satisfy your craving, take heart.

Though McDonald's has its own app for advance ordering and mobile pay, the McDelivery service is run by UberEATS.

Orders frequently come later in the day, bringing in revenue at a time when customers may not be walking into restaurants, Easterbrook said. UberEats typically charges a booking fee - say, $4.99 - that can vary by location.

The full menu is available, with the exception of soft-serve ice cream cones.

The world's largest burger chain now offers delivery via UberEats to about 270 restaurants in Chicago and more than 2,000 nationwide, in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Seattle and Atlanta. "No other food company in the world has this reach and ability to be this convenient to so many customers through delivery", McDonald's said in a statement in March.

That doesn't mean Alabama restaurants won't eventually be on the list of delivery locations. This is when 60% of delivery orders were made.

"We are encouraged by early results in the USA where delivery is resonating well, particularly with our younger customers", Easterbrook said, CNBC noted. Easterbrook said Wednesday, May 31, 2017, that the number of McDonald's restaurants available to deliver meals is expanding this week to the NY metro area, Seattle, Denver and more. The restaurant chain also plans to expand the use of kiosks to allow guests to place an order without standing in line with the food being delivered to the customer's table.
