Ronaldo was making the headlines on Friday, two days before Portugal's Confederations Cup debut in Russian Federation, because of a report that said he wants to leave Real Madrid and Spain following allegations that he defrauded the country's tax authorities.

Spanish prosecutors have accused the 32-year-old Ronaldo of defrauding the authorities of millions of euros in tax.

The court complaint alleges that Ronaldo back in 2010 built a business structure to hide his earnings made from image rights from 2011 to 2014.

Cristiano Ronaldo is upset after being accused of tax fraud and wants to leave.

Real Madrid are said to be shocked by the player's decision after they released a statement backing him in the face of the accusations.

Ronaldo posted an Instagram image yesterday saying: "Sometimes the best answer is to be quiet", in the wake of the allegations and later claimed he had a "clear conscience"".

However, the publication in Portugal claims that the current holder of the Ballon d'Or wants to leave Spain after the Confederations Cup campaign that Portugal is participating in.

Whether or not Ronaldo will get a transfer remains to be seen, but he reportedly has his eyes on Premier League team Manchester United, where he played from 2003 to 2009.

Gestifute said the company, Tollin, does not amount to an offshore structure for evading taxes and was established in 2004 when Ronaldo signed for United. He recently led his side to their 12th Champions League title after a brilliant performance with two crucial goals against Juventus and was also the top scorer in the tournament. Besides, the PSG owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has a very good relationship with the Portuguese star and he might be able to convince him to join his project and help the French team to win the Champions League.

5 - Ronaldo has scored five times in a game twice - against Espanyol and Granada (both in 2015) - and had a further five games where he scored four goals.
