Cavs' best effort not good enough to beat the Warriors

Oh, J.R. Smith. NBA fans love the Cleveland Cavs' shooting guard for reasons both ridiculous and poignant.

The Cavs had a Game 3 win within reach Wednesday night, but the Golden State Warriors came storming back with an 11-0 run to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in the NBA Finals.

But that didn't stop Smith's account from posting a tweet that the Cavaliers will actually come back to win this series in seven games.

After being blasted for speaking too soon after a loss, the tweet disappeared from Smith's timeline.

He tells, "I got out of the shower and my phone was buzzing". "I'm smarter than that".

However, Smith still believes the Cavs have a chance. "I would be much smarter than that than to tweet that at literally 12:04, right after the game".

Smith, 31, admitted that he believed in the message that the Cavaliers could become the first National Basketball Association team to overcome a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series. Game 4 is Friday at 9 Quicken Loans Arena.
