Assassin's Creed Origins will indeed bring the AC franchise to ancient Egypt, as many AC fans had hoped.
Of course, things may change from now until launch, but this already looks more extensive than every other Assassin's Creed before it. But the star of the show is likely to be Assassin's Creed: Origins, even though that game also got top billing during Microsoft's Xbox event on Sunday.
We expect Ubisoft to reveal more details, screenshots and a trailer during its E3 conference, so stay tuned for more! Described as a "prequel and spiritual successor" to 2003's Beyond Good and Evil, the new game also promises a "multi-ethnic" world including many characters of colour.
For those who are familiar with the series' lineage, Origins is coming from the team behind Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
The Assassin's Creed franchise has sold over 100 million games, but sales for the franchise were beginning to slow down after a long run of yearly releases. The game will have RPG elements like Levelling up, loot chest drops, customizations and achievements. The trailer also promised that the game will show the first members of the Order of Assassins that give the series its moniker. The game we've all known has existed for some time finally got officially acknowledged at today's Microsoft press briefing, and it looks great.
